Hi, I am 48 and looking to buy some investment properties to help fund retirement. Got quite a bit in PPOR, and some residual debt outstanding. Hoping to learn about investment strategies as all of a sudden retirement age looks a lot closer! Where did the years go?:)

    Welcome to the forum.

When you say retirement is suddenly looking a lot closer I assume you rode the Melb or Syd property boom.
    Brilliant if you did.

I would start reading posts on PC that interest you, keep reading and researching, if you like what you read or a particular strategy then dig deeper.

    All the best

    MTR:)

Unfortunately did not ride the property boom. What I meant was that I seem to have suddenly got older! And need a plan in place asap!!

That is what I am hoping, and this time I want to be set up correctly to take advantage. I will be perusing these boards to try and learn the best investment strategies etc. We have been advised to buy a property in SMSF, which we are investigating. And also to buy another property outside of Super. I am currently the only breadwinner, and so need to understand what my max borrowing capacity is based on my salary.
