a forgotten part of the Central Coast is Mannering Park.
I see threads on buying in San Remo Toukley Blue Haven Gorokan etc but everyone forgets Mannering Park up near the Vales Point power station.

That seems quite reasonable. I'm assuming though that local employment opportunities are limited, forcing people to commute to Sydney for work. Not everyone's cup of tea. But certainly do-able.

Yes, thought so. Lake Macquarie is in the Hunter region.

Ive not heard of this suburb (but then central coast is not my forte and have not done any due diligence). Might take a peek, thank you.

For those thinking about commutes to Sydney, what's better - proximity to the rail line or proximity to the freeway? Don't thing Mannering Park is on the train line, ie Newcastle line

Thanks for the follow up. It seems a car would be a necessity. It may suit some renters, but most I feel like to be close to public transport.

I have a holiday place in big 4 holiday park in mannering park and I am up there atleast twice a month. There is no train line in mannering park and not much for public transport at all. There is the new shopping centre at lake munmorah which is approx 10 min drive. House prices around that area are definitely on the move upwards. It is also close to the beaches as well.
