Accountants & bookkeepers have access to Xero 'cashbook' which is a cheaper subscription. They are able to setup cashbooks via their practice account, but obviously not every firm will offer or advertise this.

It only has basic functionality (no payroll, can't account for GST on the cheapest package etc).

I use the non-GST version to track personal finances at the moment and it's very simple to use. A bit of setup to get bank rules functioning but once they're in place it takes a couple of minutes a week to reconcile everything.

    Cactus,
Ask your accountant to setup the $5 or $10 (if you want automatic bank feeds) plan for you and "invite you in" so you have access. He can then just recharge you the fee annually with his tax return fee. He will likely want/need access to this anyway. This is how we work it with our small business clients, we invite both them in and the tax agent.
    Cheers,
    Ross

Forgot to mention, $5 and $10 plans only if you are not GST registered
But if you are and lodging BAS etc, will need the $19 plan :)
