Making multiple (verbal) offers on 3 different properties? Ethical? Unlawful?

    Consideration doesn't need to be monetary.
    Contracts can be verbal - but not enforceable against land unless in writing.

    I just mentioned that the broker is fine with you making offers on other props while he is still taking offers for the current one. Until a written contract is mutually agreed, there is nothing binding as subsequent messages have mentioned. Btw, I am a beginner and happy to be corrected.

    Absolutely. And making offers on different properties gives you (the buyer) some power over the vendors. If the vendor doesn't like your price you can just say you'll instead buy property x instead of yours.

    Any decent agent worth their weight in QLD would not accept a verbal offer. Load it up with conditions in the inner to some middle ring suburbs and you'll go to the back of the line.

    Indeed. I can't remember an agent ever taking a verbal offer up here.
