Yes. Is that laid on top of something else where you can now see through the floor? What was it laid on? The photo looking up looks like compressed AC sheet or maybe something else?

Give the inspection company the opportunity to put it through their insurance or if not give you the money back and move on

Haha, that's a good idea. They would probably do it if it meant nullifying any liability they may have had.
    It never happened!

Yep, they've given me the standard "Our office will be in touch as soon as possible." brush off email 3 days in a row.

I had a similar experience with active termites not picked up and structurally unsound building. In the end I met at the house with another pest control company, another builder, a structural engineer, two senior property managers and the original b&p person. They agreed to fix the structural issues but only after I paid $600 for the engineers report and they didn't do the best job they could have. BTW my original b&p guy is the local area master builders assn president. Very Dodge as it turns out and I know the sales team at my prop managers re no longer list him as an option for b&p reports... Good luck I hope it works out. The only other option my solicitor suggested was fair trading but not sure that would have gone anywhere anyway.

    Thanks for your input @shelleykins
Good to know there are options, even if they're not ideal.
If I was them I wouldn't really want it to get messy either, but they're doing their best to avoid.

It's annoying when you get nowhere being civil and trying to come to an ageeable outcome.
Had to yell at 3 people on the phone to get progress. Disappointing, but at least I passed on the stress to them, felt better ;)

Yes, don't think there's a proper wet seal, so looks like full bathroom reno time.

I'm not sure, I will have to ask the builder.

We're talking at most a couple of hundred bucks, right?

That's worth yelling at 3 people over? o_O

Mate, that was pretty spot on!
Went with the most straight forward option and it's $150.
Hopefully the rest goes that smoothly.

Good luck. Atleast you didn't get ripped off. That's a fair price.
