Wow. Is your business also in the healthcare sector? It is a booming industry!

Ah yes. Most specialists set themselves up as individual businesses. I'm sure you have set yourself up with a trust(s) and the advantages that they bring.

I have the utmost respect for Doctors. When I was working in the corporate world, I used to think my colleagues and I were getting paid very handsomely for doing a lot of cr@p really... in comparison to Doctors, who save lives every day and add value to society.

My Major accomplishment for the year:

I ticked everything off the list I posted on Somersoft last year, bar one–Paris, which I cancelled last minute to move to the Gold Coast to spend time with my mentor (and in doing so, avoided being in Paris exactly the same time the drama went down).

    The power of written goals..

This year, I took control of our finances.

I have a wife who is financially passive at best; she is content to just let things 'sort themselves out'.

Not that there wasn't any consultation, but in the end it came down to a 'you just do what you think is best'. So instead of letting that stall things further, I decided to do just that. Fast forward almost 12 months, with plenty of advice from multiple sources, I think we are in a pretty good place.

Love her to bits, financial passiveness and all..haha

As of yesterday I ticked off all of the goals I set myself for the second half of 2015:
    • Buy a second property with potential for sweat equity (will be renovated by the end of the year)
    • Travel overseas
    • Secure a new job in a different working environment
Looking forward to the Christmas break and planning for 2016, where we will be having an "us" year - travel, personal development, health and happiness.

That's the way, good on you.
It's important to celebrate along the way and not delay your enjoyment until you retire.

Thanks - being 23 I've still got a long way until retirement! Although sticking to our plan will mean retirement (or working in jobs we enjoy because we want to, not have to) will be in our 40's.

Do it while you're able to I say.
Good stuff, you should be almost there in your 30's if you get onto it.

    Great stuff guys.

    For me ;

    - birth of a second (and last child), a happy and healthy girl.

    - earnings growth of 38% in my primary business (this is where I take a salary from), 6 years in the growth pipeline is still very strong.

    - signed a lease for A grade CBD office space for above, a small thing for some but feels like a huge step for us. 6 years ago there was 2 of us in 1 room, in a crappy suburban serviced office.

    - working as advisor and investor for a start up going live on 18 Jan, this one will be a break even within 3-4 months. Work already lined up. Looking forward to participating more in this business as it grows.

    That's it for me :)

I answered in an earlier post that I had achieved very little this year.

However today as I was setting up a workstation in our office for a new employee starting next week, I looked around the office and realised its now pretty much at capacity with 7 stations.
This brings the the number of employees in our business to 10, which is a milestone which could not have been predicted when starting a business from home 10 years ago.
The realistic goal of the business when starting was to generate 2-300 dollars a week on top of our wages to help up with a very basic long term property investment plan.
Sometimes it's difficult to notice how much is achieved in one year when your levels of expectations continually rise year on year.

@Ace in the Hole we are much the same . I have been bitching that there is not much happening. But husband, our factory manger and I are spending some of the Christmas break rearranging the factory to accomodate at least one extra work bench.

The awesome thing that has been happening in the past month or so, is that our main competitor has been losing lots of customers to us.

I have pumped it into hubby and factory manager that the general rule is that (in business ) you have price, quality and service and you can only have TWO. We pride ourself on delivering all THREE.

this season has proven to the guys that we CAN do it and thrive.
