Hmm I was thinking it had been a fairly quiet year... till I wrote it all down.
    in no particular order
    1) Became a dad
    2) Reduced 10% of debt
    3) Traveled to - Australia, Turkey, Greece, Baku, Moscow, Bangkok, Lombok. (I think I have missed one, but for the life of me cant remember). Off to Japan in Jan.
    4) Got Married.

    Thats about it.

We should tie this thread with the below SS thread... see who stayed on track.
Still got a month or so to go before year end... so get cramming!

What are your plans for 2015 - Somersoft Property Investment Forums

    life
    1) Become a dad (easy for me to say). Pass
    2) Help my parents retire. Fail - without a lot of progress tbh.
    3) Holiday - Australia in March. I also have Japan, Nepal, SA on my list and would like to add to it. But will need to see how we go when Blacky Jnr is on the ground. Pass (didnt make it to Nepal or SA though.
    4) Keep on my fitness goals. Was doing well till the wedding... Still below year start weight Im calling it neutral (neither pass or fail).
    5) Read 12 books Pass

    In Investing
    1)Repayment of debt. Pass -10%
    2) Finish BlackMinster Development. hmm nope... But well on the way. Waiting on Finance approval.
    3) Buy another unit in Moscow. Pass
    4) Increase income (haven't yet figured out the how - or how much). Fail
    5) Buy more shares Fail
    6) Depending on the above I would also like to pick up another dev site - but will see how we go with $$. Might be 2016 before that happens. 2016 it is.
    7) Learn more about shares, trading and fx Pass
    8) Mitigate more risk Work in progress

    Time to set 2016 goals.

This year we went on a two month trip to South America (spent Carnival in Rio, hiked the Inka Trek, hiked the Colca Canyon). This was a big achievement for us as it has been in the pipelines for a long time!

Changed jobs into a higher role. Not sure if this is an achievement yet (lot's more stress, longer hours and only marginally better pay). However, in that I've gotten a very quick crash course in building teams, change management and managing staff through conflict.

These are the two big ones, this year feels a little bit like a dud for me. So bring on 2016!

Am mulling over whether after 40+ years in selling/managing real estate is this the end of my working life, am feeling a little bored, will see what 2016 brings.

Am gradually coming to terms with the loss of my husband 2 years ago, still looking for a house closer to Newcastle.

Can we expect educational seminars and a book in 2016?

What's your advice for a newbie to KFC? Should I be buying Original Recipe or Zinger?

Received Tribunal and Council recognition that a 3 storey apartment development is suitable on my development site of 1300m. That's the biggest strategy win of the year for me.
Tribunal has meticulously examined my design and apart from a few tweaks (e.g. front setback), they are quite happy with it.
Had 20k + malicious damage done to one of my IPs and still counting. Didn't stress about it at all. Had a great PM that managed it all and good insurance cover.
Rolled over the super and set up an SMSF
Bought a property and put it fully in the super.
Read a lot of tribunal planning cases, my barrister even gave me 2.5k discount off a usual 9k fee for doing some of the legal and planning research. He cited many of the case laws I dug up from Tribunal cases and architectural diagrams I ferreted out of surrounding apartment developments.
Didn't flinch when on the first day of my Tribunal hearing, someone put a dead possum upside down in my front yard with its chest slit open and its heart dug out - yeah, I'm so scared:rolleyes:
If they thought I'm going to be afraid and back off from the Tribunal hearing and not go ahead, they underestimated me:cool:

    .Quit a job I hated
.Did an internship in Medellin, Colombia for three months (to try to get back into IT which is what I enjoy) working for a startup
.Got a job very quickly after coming back home, working for a startup. No pay, just equity in the company, but it's showing promise and I really enjoy the work.

As @Blacky said, its only when you think about it that you realise what you have achieved.

    Jan - nothing much
    Feb - Holidays overseas
    Mar - Holidays in Australia
Apr - Signed contract for my first property (OTP purchase IP, paid deposit)
    May - nothing
June - Purchased a block of land (paid deposit, settlement next year). Intended to make it a PPOR however more time i spend here on PC forum, more I think of keeping it as an IP as well.
    July - nothing much
August - Quit job that i didn't like and bought a new car
September - Started another job that I didn't like :p but got a 25% payrise in the process.
October - Went on my first camping night out trip
November - Joined PC forum (biggest achievement of all ;))
December - planning holidays to go Gold coast and a drive to Coffs Harbour.

Good progress overall :) and really happy that I stepped into the market.

eventful year in a way, few unsettled issues with job, life, everything in between, but have opportunity to review priorities in life
finished post-grad after painful 4 years
    came across SS/PC
    able to draw equity out
2-3 IPs in 2016 is the plan

My life has been a non-event compared to you guys and ladies. On Tuesday I deadlifted 30 kgs - I had my first ever strength training session last week and those who have met me know that I am smaller than 60ks. Last year I finally got to Paris and in December (that's still in the past twelve months) I achieved another goal. Twenty years ago I worked out that if I want to live on acreage in the country, I'm going to have to lose some of the snake phobia. This is my nephew's little python making her way up my arm. 20140920_194345.jpg

Damn... nothing too much for me except for finally buying my first interstate property, being very comfortable posting on this and the SS forums, becoming a Rentrepreneur (but that was really end of 2014) and comfortably surpassing the 100k pa in gross rental income barrier. Not sure when I passed the net worth of 1mill... but I think it must have been in 2014 or this year...

We head out from Marion bay around wedge island a fair bit especially through summer. Very lucky to have an old man with a decent boat and doesn't mind spending up on fuel.

2015 was a pretty uneventful year for us too.
Like @Ace in the Hole we had put in place some good things business-wise that have paid off in heaps more income and profit.

I did MAKE my husband have a number of short break holidays every 6-8 weeks I booked a 2 or 3 night weekend away somewhere, just to make sure he couldn't go to the factory. He bitched about it, but by the 2nd night he agreed it was exactly what he needed. :)

Concentrating on slamming the business debt down (sadly still a long way to go :( ). Really want to have the ready cash to buy a new (2nd hand) ute in this FY to take advantage of the complete write off up to $20k but I have a debt reduction target that I want to hit first.

2016 looks like it will be a good year ...bring it onnnnnnn

My goal was to be paying no more interest on the PPoR by my birthday this year.
But an additional purchase got in the way...
