Give it a wide berth, social problems are rampart, alcohol drugs etc those islands off the coast of Redlands are full of unemployed people pooling their cheques to pay rent with North Stradbroke the exception. Easy to get in hard to get out....

    Everyone knows it's there.
Make sure you actually have a look at what you plan to buy.

seriously i think you actually need to visit the islands before making such a ridiculous statement. the islands are a wonderful place to live and are jewels in the bay. we have at least two police officers on each of the main islands and there are alot (and i mean alot) more issues living on the mainland than there are on the islands. where else can you buy waterfront property at less than half the price of the same place on the gold coast. We have golf clubs, supermarkets, doctors, dentists, restaurants, bowls clubs and all of the amentities you have on the mainland. The only negative is the cost of water taxis and barge prices - if you have to work on the mainland and live on the islands it is difficult with the transport costs. And no i am not a real estate agent just a local who really enjoys living in a quiet relaxed paradise 43 klms from the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
