I remember reading an alternate, more exciting version of lotto.
Choose your numbers, and stick the (?)8 bucks in a jar on the fridge.
    Watch the draw.

It's a bit like betting against your own team. You sorta don't wanna win.

Yeah, I might stop going out Friday nights.

    Wait a minute...

    Oh.

You would be doing well if you went out on Friday night and only spent $1 ;)

In Perth you can buy a lotto ticket for less than the price of a pint. So, you can still go out on Friday night, just drink one less pint. :)

Or do both. Lottery winnings would just get you there faster. :D
If you can't afford a couple of lousy dollars a week for a ticket, which is like 2 cups of coffee, you should be over on the tightarse thread. :p

Last year, independent consumer group Choice reported that Nespresso had sold an estimated 28 billion capsules worldwide — about 28 million kilograms of aluminium, much of which may be sitting in landfill, with recycling figures not made public.

Is 28 million kilograms a lot really? ;) But yeah, we recycle the used pods.

Back on thread, here is the original story:

THE Lotto $20 million Halloween Superdraw is still over 24 hours away.

Yet new research, conducted by Tatts Lotteries, revealed that people would be happier and able to realise their dreams with a lot less than a whopping $20 million.

The research, conducted by ReachTEL, surveyed almost 4000 people and the results showed that the vast majority would be most happy if they had a lottery win of $5 million or even less.

    http://www.news.com.au/finance/mone...st-amount-to-win/story-e6frfmci-1227588528778

I would be stoked to win $5 million. I'm not sure I would be a lot happier to win $20 million. Does that make me bad?

Can you buy tickets online? I might do it for a laugh. Never say never.

If I'm walking past a newsagent and feel the urge, I'll buy one. That's probably only twice a year. Occasionally I'll buy a $1 or $2 scratchy. But my total spend would be $25 a year max.
My dad is a bit of a gambler. Always talks about when he wins lotto. Turned me off. Plus I hate wasting money.

Our family friend won first prize in the lotto in London about 10 years ago. What I would do to have that much money.

Speaking of bogans. Out Mt Druitt way Lotto money gets diverted to a carton of beer and two packets of smokes. It's a different dream out here......but still a dream nonetheless.

I'll buy a ticket when there's a big draw on, if I remember. Haven't got one yet for tomorrow's draw, it's 50/50 that I'll remember to buy one or not.

Congrats! For someone on an average salary that's a full year's wage (and then some) so they would be stoked I bet.
But for a successful property investor... yeah... Thanks. A bit of extra change. Coolio. :)

I don't buy tickets often but when I do I enjoy dreaming how I would spend the money. I figure I'm buying dreams.

I often wonder how bogans manage the angst of having to decide how to divide up their weekly dollars - how much does one allocate to grog, how much for ciggies, how much for tatts?

My question was always "does a bogan know that they are a bogan?"
