    Hi all,

As some of you will have read in my first forum post, I am a US citizen resident in Australia and my partner is Australian. We're looking to buy our first property, but we're really struggling to put together a team of advisers in Australia who understands both the US & Australian systems and can advise accordingly on tax, finance, and legal approaches. Any recommendations?

    Thanks,
    FFTB

Happy to provide you with a contact if you PM your email address.

I am an Australian non-resident and my accountant is a foreign tax specialist. Previously working for one of the majors. He specialises in matters such as yours.

He cant provide advice on finance/legal matters - however, has reccomended others to me who can.

To be clear - I get no benifit from reccomending him. He is just good at what he does and assisted me to navigate an ATO audit a few years ago.

    Regards

    Blacky

Are you already an aussie resident for tax purposes? If this American it would be worth considering selling some of your sharesprior to making the move, i believe capital gains tax is a lot lower there.

American tax system is not something I know anything about though and maybe the above point is entirely irrelevant

Am also happy to provide my USA accountant details who specialises in USA tax law and also Australian tax. He has many Australian clients.

He is excellent. Happy to provide details as Blacky mentioned I also have no affiliation, however perhaps you can compare etc find out which would suit your scenario.

If interested same provide me with your email address.

    MTR:)

There is an accountant on this forum Paul@ffi - possibly a start to check out whether he deals with international income.
