    Hi I am looking for recommendations from someone who has had a grannyflat built or similar in Newcastle. I am after a company that delivers, and build quality and not over priced. Any help appreciated?

    Ours was designed by @Brazen from www.grannyflatapprovals.com.au who also did all the paperwork. But the builder was obtained by servicemortgage.com.au - quality was good but price a bit high.

    I don't see why not, just have to watch out for the section 94. Newcastle it is Nil, Lake Macquarie is 13k from memory.

    We havent built yet but I met with a rep from Backyard Grannys and was very impressed with their product and service and price was around what I expected. They will come out and have a chat and offer some suggestions on your site and they have a show GF near Wallsend.

    Also have a look at backspace living not as generic as backyard grannys.

    You could owner build yourself a granny for half the cost theses companies charge and it would be higher spec.
