I opened the front door and found this little chap inside the door. I had to step over him to turn off the alarm and he then headed up the hall stand, settled for a little while on the stair bannister. I called the snake catcher and we watched each other for about half an hour so I could make sure he stayed where I could see him. Each time he started moving, I'd move and he'd stop again.

He's a beautiful thing, and when the catcher got there, she simply picked him up and popped him in a sack to be released in the bush. I don't mind if he is in our ceiling but I wasn't keen on slipping into bed and finding him at the bottom, so I hope he's happy in his new home.

I'd be worried about a banister like that too!

I would have run into the street, screaming hysterically (I'm sure a neighbour would call the police). Venomous or not, that's one animal that I am not able to deal with.

Twice now I've found a Night Tiger wrapped around the kitchen louvres. First time it was about 11pm we got the snake catcher out. Second time figured I was a pro after watching the catcher so caught it myself and released it on the banks of the creek down the road.

Yep... carpet python. Beautiful snake. Smooth and very calm. I have a video of it slithering around a heavy bronze chicken on the bottom step as it makes its way back down, using it as a means of support... amazing to watch, but I couldn't upload it for some reason.

With apologies to snake lovers (even of the 'safe' kind), unfortunately for snakes near me, I go by the belief that the only good snake is a dead snake.

That's to be expected, for a Fox to hate snakes.

Must be yeah :) That one of @wylie would have it's head chopped of with a shovel even if it cost me a new stair case in the process.

I would have released it down the banks of the creek too - in 2 separate pieces!

I love big snakes (well, non- bitey ones mostly) - that one is gorgeous.
