Virgo still around. She posted recently. Tiger mum of 2 children chewed up most of her time in recent years...but end result was very pleasing to see them going to the best selective schools. But her passive income is in 100k circa so retracting from postin is generally a natural career progression...:p

Nope, same username but I was only really active until the end of 2006.

In 2007, I bought a second business. This business plus my existing business completely consumed me until I sold them both in 2010.

Then I retired, built a new home, ...

At the start of this year, I had some spare time and I wanted to give back to SS (plus Ian and Jan Somers) for all the help and assistance I was provided.

I found that SS had been archived and PC had taken its place. So I joined PC.

Officially joined in 2003. Unofficially joined, something like 2000. I remember posting on the forum from my office in our skating rink. We had that from 2000-2001. I also remember looking at the forum from home, which we sold around 2000, so maybe as early as 1999. My Username & log in details got lost when everything migrated to the new boards.

Not really long term, but what happened to China from SS - last I remember never ended up pulling the trigger on an IP but ended up with a CIP due to needing a new premise to operate the business from.

Right, I remember him now, specialist??
Perhaps he just moved on. I also think he was heavily invested in share market? rather than property??

If you are going to try to speak the language you should at least spell the name of the language properly hehe. (Only one p. Use of ñ can be overlooked on non Spanish keyboards).

The Spanish white cat started it.

Don't know how I managed that...fixed. I could fix the ñ too but I'm sure most spanish speakers still understand. I probably should have used ¿ as well right? :p

In the word español it's understandable. But there's other words where the n or ñ is important. Año means year, but ano means anus.

Technically the ¿ should be used at the start of a question, but in practice it's not.

Anyway, getting back to the thread topic ;-) ...

Maybe we need a beginners Spanish thread...
I just watched the movie "Truman" at the Palace Norton St Leichhardt Cinema tonight. Somehow got free movie tickets thanks to Energy Australia. It was good :D

I've found that Spanish is a good language to know a little bit when watching US movies and shows. Often there's words or phrases in Spanish which add to the movie; sometimes there's little jokes. A Spanish "bad words" dictionary would be especially useful. In Mexico there's quite a few words which all translate just to a single f word in English.

Italian and Spanish language has many similarities
When I was travelling in Spain, I spoke Italian to the locals and it worked well most of the time

for example ano, year in Italian as well

No! Ano is anus in Spanish. Año is year!

But yes, the so called Romance languages have a lot of similarities. Not just in the vocabularies- but also in the endless verb conjugations!
