    Hi all,

I have recently bought a large property in logan which is setback well beyond the neighing houses. I'd like to put a Granny Flat in the front yard- there is ample room.

According to the Logan Council regulations, a secondary dwelling cannot be in front of the main dwelling.

Has anyone had any luck getting the secondary dwelling approved in the front yard?

I'm hoping there is an example of this and I can use this as a precedent to gain approval.

    Thanks all.

Tell them your granny is limited in mobility, therefore putting her at the front is logical and humane, less walking to get the mail!

You need to keep an eye on her?

She's a sticky beak and needs an unobstructed view of the neighbours

Whats your land size and zoning

How many bedrooms is your existing property?

You might be able to get away with a dual occupancy which in return could potentially be subdivided in the future.

It is subject to infrastructure fees but I believe Logan now imposes this on granny flats as well
