I'm thinking more Daydream Island or Fitzroy Island...

As the owner of a PRS Custom 22, I regard their diversion into blatant copying of other classic guitars - first the Silver Sky and now this abomination - an obvious take on an LP Jr double cut, with horror. Devaluing the brand. Anything for money.

    Freebies forever!

Hehe. Understandable attitude. As far as I know it was a limited run about 10 years ago. It was a screen shot. I don't own a PRS and have never played one. I resist buying more guitars (for now) unlike coffee.

Back to the Taylor T5z which has been my distraction for the majority of the week.

PS: When buying an AB Box read the instructions SK then you wont be surprised to find out you've bought an A/B/Y. MXR could have at least marked it as such.

Sorry if I’ve missed it but what’s everyone’s thoughts on the underperformance of the old school LICs.
    VAS and forget?

As an income investor I'm happy with the more reliable div's from the old school lic's, if VAS was my main holding reckon I'd be a bit concerned about the current massive drop in div's announced.

I've just been adding to VAS the past few months, it was only around 10% of my holdings, I'd like it at least half I think. Last year leading up to the elections I was going hard on LICs, haven't noticed good discounts on my LICs, so it's been easy just adding to VAS, with not much thought atm (except "wish I bought more when it was cheaper" ;)).

Wouldnt invest in either, A 20% weighting in NDQ has given the same returns as a 100% weighting in VAS, and that is not including the 50% CGT discount. If you want dividends a 40% weighting in HACK would give you the same return as 100% in VAS.

It's important to remember that the 'smoothing effect' of LIC dividends is possible because the LIC's have withheld part dividends from previous years. I see ETF's as more desirable because the holder gets every cent of dividend as it arrives.

Do you know why Hack has only been paying the one distribution per year? Just curious is all

    Doesn't surprise me.

I think from memory WAA has a swag of AUI and DUI has a swag of AFI but a quick browse of the various LIC holdings didn't reveal any ETF's.

Wouldn't surprise me if WAM, BKI or MLT were into the ETF's

I think LIC's have their advantage. I'd try not to get too caught up in it all. I just pick up an LIC if it is trading brlow its NTA, but generally have a preference to VAS. Hold a lot of MLT, I am cool with that.

Will I extend beyond MLT and AFI? Probably not.
Am I happy holding them forever? Yeah.
Do I care it under performs the index a bit? Not really.
Do I fart too much? Yes

DJW was a nice buy back in late March. Post-tax NTA still higher than Pre-tax. Offloaded yesterday.

Trying to fill in the Queensland paperwork for access a futile exercise. PIA in short. Bloody annoyed but then I'm an aged one so I'm always ****** off with everything external when it's all about me.

PS: I was bored at the time; it's an old (bad) habit and, lastly, it was @Nodrog's fault as he mentioned the damn thing.
