An anomaly engineered by the banks and government. Buying property right now is like buying bitcoin; "Should I buy now? prices could plummet in 6 months but if I don't buy they could go up another 100k". Pretty silly situation for housing if you ask me.

The question is can government keep it propped up like this? China has so it's entirely possible but at the same time, it's a speculative market right now and it's unhealthy for the nation.

Will flatten. stagnate. Some markets correct. No major crash. Then start climbing again in time. No mystery what's gonna happen. And that's just Sydney in general.

Other places in Oz have great opportunities.

Are investors still buying half of properties? I have not seen recent stats.

Yes. I haven't been posting much because I have been busy, busy, busy. One project got completed and rented out to some lovely tenants. Airbnb #1 has been flat out, so lots of time invested in preparing for guests. We have a group from China who arrived today who are lovely. Airbnb #2 is getting a makeover before launch. Fun, fun, fun. :)

That's because its all BS, there is no massive nationwide bubble imo.

We had a correction in 2018, in some areas substantial. That was it. No 40-50% nationwide killer. Many folks had fantastic buying opportunities then. Most did nothing. And so the cycle (its always interesting what spurs on the cycles to occur, imho no one really has a freakin clue until its obvious) goes on. The cautiously optimistic action takers get richer over time and the eternally negative pessimists keep writing articles minus the wealth.

Personally I'd much rather be in the wealth creation business than in economics. Only one of them will give you the chance of a better life. And I firmly believe 'economics' and 'wealth creation' do not necessarily go hand in hand. Economics has led many, many people astray from creating wealth.

    Choose wisely ;)

Yep. There was someone on another forum who has been waiting 11 years for the market to crash so he can buy a house. 11 years! I asked after 11 years if it hasn't crashed then maybe it won't? He came up with a string of reasons why it was going to crash soon. Waiting will cost him. The Perth market is on the move.

I've been waiting for the property market to burst for 20+ years.

Double brick?... is that so? I do find the mainstream Perth properties to be more solid and better constructed...

It's my understanding from Westminster that Perth folks love their double brick... @Perthguy is that correct?

    I was just leaving year 12 :D

Man I didn't like school much. Felt most subjects were a waste of time. I was pretty rebellious then.

Absolutely. They heat up and stay hot like an oven in summer and get as cold as a fridge in winter but they are the BEST! lol

It's mainly because of an extended advertising campaign by a brick company to sell more bricks.
