Just wondering does anyone know how much does it cost to repair a small dent inside a lift?

Replacement stainless steel panel won't be cheap.

You might consult One of the paintless dent removal places but they may not be able to pull it out.

Thanks Scott. Approximately how much will it cost for replacing the steel panel? I just want a rough idea if possible.

Not good news but probably only the lift service agent "can" repair so you are at their mercy. Consider insurance claim.

To hid the dent maybe $10
Put sign on the wall "no smoking in the lift" covering the dent :)

Yes, my property manager suggested something similar. :)

I will buy a protective curtain to avoid further damages. It's quite expensive - $7,500 for one lift and I wasn't sure whether to buy it or not.

My thoughts too. So much cheaper than trying to repair or replace a panel.

Backcharge the person who damaged the lift.

Unfortunately we can't identify who damaged the lift. The CCTV are not in the lifts yet.

Doesn't 100% eliminate the possibility of damage as it relies on tenants/owners advising the BC with sufficient notice that an event that may cause damage is planned to occur and/or the BC reacting to the request within the required timeframes.

People are notorious for bad planning and being impatient and will always take risks and sometimes the end result is continuing damage to F&F like lifts.

The stainless lift where my mother lives has heavy green "bomb shelter" curtains that get fitted when required but the lift panels are still scratched and dents from people or their tradies doing the wrong thing even though there is a big notice in the foyer/basement and clearly articulated in the BC by-laws.

We recently had a quote to replace the 6ft high by 2ft wide mirror panel in a lift, $2,460

    Good value....

Seeing they will always get knocked around, it would hardly be worth worrying about the cosmetics ?

What about the cowboy PMs that put any tenant in there and they hit and bang it all up as moving in and out, x however many units are rented ?
