Doesn't even make the first page for me when I enter that phrase. Could take a long long time to beat the other forums in terms of ranking. They have a lot of authority.

My bet is within 3 months. Mr. Goog won't take long to realise that Somersoft is no longer active, aka. PropertyChat will start moving up.

P.S. Sim - make sure there are permanent link from SS to PChat :p

Other thing is too program in of those annoying automatic transfers so when you go to somersoft you get taken to PChat . Also rename somersoft as PChat's archives ....

It will be difficult to outrank Somersoft with the volume of back-links it has and the 13 years of "authority" it has built up.

No, no dirty tricks - Somersoft will remain as it is.

We already rank really highly for some of the news threads - and will continue to do so for any topics which aren't getting new content on Somersoft.

Won't take long - this place is buzzing. 1200+ members already is impressive.

    Cheers

9,000 posts in 12 days is a bit scary really. Somersoft's best ever was last month (May) with just under 14,500 posts for the month (31 days).

Not exactly a fair comparison though ... we've had an existing membership base on Somersoft to tap into.

If we compare the launch of Somersoft v3 (which is the current version, launched in Sept 2002) after the migration from Somersoft v2 though ...

That post also contains some stats about Somersoft v2 (the Webboard forums):
    • 25,864 posts in 20 months (590 days)
    • ... I'm not sure how many registered members we had on Webboard, but I think I still have a copy of the original database somewhere that I could look at

Just did a Google search. Not counting the paid advertising, it is the 4th on page two. I searched for Property Investing Forums. So, it won't take long.
