I'm interested to hear from some people that have been through a few "lending cycles". Sometimes things get more difficult others banks are throwing money at clients. I haven't really been around that long and this is my first experience seeing lending start to tighten up. Are there rough lengths of time associated with each? How far do you expect this round of tightening to go? Anyone care to make a prediction of when banks will want investors as clients again?
Great thread. Best source is to refer to APRA's playbook in the early 2000s - they've referenced it as part of their great track record on prudential oversight. I'd love to hear others insights on what they remember from this period. The 07-08 issue was global markets - this one is regulator induced (similar to early 2000s).
