Lease renewal fee

    Not an overreaction at all, just making a point that a $400 lease renewal fee is unjustified. How many hours of work and overheads do you think are required for a lease renewal?
    You can doubt it as much as you like, I actually live in Perth, own a few rental properties and know several other property investors over here. None pay a $400 lease renewal fee or anything near that amount. I don't know about the other States, I was simply responding to your claim that all Perth real estate agents charge a $400 fee.
    Sure business exist to make a profit. If the real estate agent I use charge a fully inclusive 10% fee for property management with no add-ons and have been around for 10 years and expanding, then there is no need to charge ludicrous fees such as a $400 lease renewal fee to be profitable. What that indicates is that agencies that charge these sort of fees are either gouging or just running inefficient businesses.
