Lead time for carpet and laminate install

    Hi all,

    Doing a small reno on our IP in Sydney which includes new carpet and laminate flooring.

    Did a little shopping around and found product we liked from Decorug that matched the look (modern) and price (low-mid, good value) we were after. We were ready to press the button only to be told that the lead time will be around 5 weeks. Is this normal? What has been your experience with lead times?

    We'd rather not wait so long, so wondering if you can recommend an alternative from your experience?

    If it's coming from overseas (and it probably is) five weeks is good. Could easily become eight weeks.

    Other than that you will have to ring around and see if there is anything you like in stock.

    Is the material in stock, on dock, stuck in a warehouse in??? or not manufactured?

    Choose a different supplier or something ex-stock.

    That seems like a reasonable lead time. Some furniture takes up to 8 weeks.

    I was shopping around yesterday. They told me lead time was 2 weeks

    Didn't bother with the "big name" stores. Their markup is too steep.

    What did you get quoted?
