Poor old landlord blamed for restaurant closure.
The restaurant has only been in business for 3 months and the landlord has been partly blamed.
Knowing how commercial works I would not be surprised if the tenant is still in the rent free inducement period.

A couple of millenials just wanting to blame someone. I feel sorry for their biggest creditor, a hospitality hire place.

Probably the colder weather is to blame for people staying home!

Didnt you know, its our fault, our tenants couldnt afford their rent because I charged them rent!

heaven forbid my tenants had to go from premix jack daniels at 9am to Straight spirits mixed with LA ICE cola

One of mates gave a new tenant
    1: an inducement
    2: fit out payment
Then when his first "cash" payment needed to be made he went belly up ...he got less than nothing ..even had to pay the agent 2 months too!

That'd be right blame the lessor for the dud deal.

Where are the personal or director's guarantees? What sort of lessor goes into a deal without putting the tenant's balls in a vice?

Admittedly, the agent takes no blame or responsibility for the deal as they leave the decision in the owner's hands but they will still put their hand out for the commission.

It's a bit rich for the tenant to go belly up as soon as the rent free period ends.
