Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this land for sale. It seems a small amount of money and a strange piece of land that has no vehicle access.

Any ideas why it would be sold in this fashion?

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking it's strange. I'm tempted to call the agent just to see what the go is. I can't imaging trying to buy a piece of land but having to organise access with the neighbours before the sale can go through!!

Hmm why can't he just sell it to the neighbours ha "Sale would be conditional upon the ability of a purchaser to arrange and provide evidence of agreements to practical vehicular access through adjoining private landholdings."

I had to ring. Looks like it's Commonwealth land and they have special requirements to sell otherwise they would have given or sold cheaply to the neighbours.

No not buying, can't see any potential there. He did say that they have pockets everywhere and that they will be listing another one in Burra NSW for about $100000 as it actually has road access but no building permit.

    That is pretty odd.
But if the rates were cheap enough...

It looked like you could access by foot via the pathway through the forest. I wonder if you could use it for camping?

The rates is an interesting point as its government land there are no current rates but would probably be after sale - agent couldn't provide any info there.

Not too unusual in the world of Telco. Not only do they need a licence to traverse over the neighbouring land but will also need to build the road too. Could be an opportunity if the block is suitable - might be OK for a wind farm or solar farm too based on the most recent Paris climate agreement & Turnbull's statement ;)

I've sent that link to my uncle. He has a few hundred acres in Majura, and a helicopter. I wonder if it happens to border his property and if so, would he would even know? Small odds...

Keep landing the chopper twice a day until the neighbours give you road access (a.k.a. extortion) :)
