    Excellent

Good speech by Shorten, and he has stepped down, no choice here

I reckon Labor would have won under Albanese.

BS just had too much baggage, he was instrumental in the knifing of Gillard and Rudd, switching allegiance to suit his own political ends, which all along was to be leader.

I don't think that has much to do with it to be honest. Scott Mo and the libs aren't exactly squeaky clean in the back-knifing stakes yet have got back in easily.

I reckon it was all the changes proposed (too many, too quickly), Adani (North Qld is desperate for jobs) , and Palmer's campaign that has done it.

^This, and the Greens foolishly thinking they could drive thousands of kilometres into western QLD to dictate policy. Whether or not the electorate are convinced about the Adani project they don't like being told what to think.

the Greens definitely thought they will get few more seats on the back of climate change. They want to save the world.

Did anyone just see the Albo interview, throwing his hat in the ring?
Red face, red eyes, hiccups, slurring etc.

I would say he turned up at an interview with a few drinks under the belt.

The Greens are mathematically and economically inept, unfortunately...

But does the world need saving, especially by them.

Time for them to do a reality check, me thinks

I think a lot of Australians will sleep better tonight.

I know I am one of them, probably one of many.

The Greens are completely off their rocka. They will never be voted into government. At least not in my lifetime.

Then they should stop driving a long convoy of gas-guzzling, carbon-emitting cars from Tasmania to Queensland to make some sort of protest.

    Maybe practice what they preach?

Very happy to see the Liberals stay in power. Labor are hell bent on perpetuating a class warfare via their policies and other spending promises which thankfully won't come to fruition.

The greens should be somehow removed.

Interesting seeing some commentators carrying on about moving to New Zealand. Wonder if they'll actually go?

They can join all the people who threatened to leave the USA after Trump was elected.

Good riddance BS (back to the big end of town with you) and Tony Abbot. Scomo should knife the ultra-loyal Dutton and Labor should promote the very obvious standout female candidate.

Farewell Bob Hawke, the best PM in my lifetime so far and infinitely better than the options available in this election.

The divisive and polarising policies of Labor under BS rightly backfired.

Education should always be our number one priority. Everything else will sort itself out.

Yeah, I thought that strategy will backfire big time and it did.

And Labor followed suit. They had 6 years to come up with something better. Can't stand Tanya Pilbersek. Too much excuses from that woman who might now be the next Labor leader.
