    Hi,
For a house in the Redlands City Shire of Brisbane I am looking to buy and have installed kitchen cabinets in a galley formation. So far so good. The tricky bit is due to doorways one side of the galley needs to use cabinets no deeper than 45cm deep and the other side of the galley can use 60cm deep cabinets. The kitchen doesnt have to be flash in anyway. Whatever gets installed will be a major improvement on whats already there.

Does anybody have any recommendations please on where/who I can source these cabinets from at a reasonable price?
    Thanks.

Ikea, Bunnings, and some other flat pack companies

If they do 45cm deep base cabinets... excellent. I just thought they all just do standard 60cm.

Edit:Just called Bunnings, they only do standard 58cm deep which is what I was thinking was the case...

Could you put all the "kitchen" stuff that needs 60cm deep cupboards on one side and all the "storage" cupboards on the other. If you can fit everything required on the deeper side, you could just buy free standing bookcase/storage/cupboards for the other. I would think it hard to find 45cm deep bases (but have not looked). You could get overhead cupboards that are shallower, but would they work mounted close to the floor, or look right?

Not a bad thought but the side that can take 60cm deep cupboards has a great big window taking up most of the overhead space. When I add in the sink and oven I'm afraid I will be lacking serious bench space, I think I need as much proper working bench space as possible.

Gockie, a company that does flat pack kitchens could make them to whatever depth you want.

No luck. They do 37cm or 60cm only.

Go with the 37cm ones if they have them. Like you said, anything will be a big improvement.

I have a supplier in Sydney if you can get them to Brisbane.
Or go with overhead cupboards. They are the same as floor ones but narrower. Just fit the bases. If you use the 37cm ones mentioned above, you just step them out from the wall so that will work but the cupboards obviously won't be as deep. Easy!

Ok. Thanks all. I may go with the 37cm wide idea if there's no easy and cheap 45cm option. Its better than having no cabinets, thats for sure.

After more research, it seems that "Kitchen in a box" may be the go...

Or just buy the whole kitchen off someone from gumtree or elsewhere that is upgrading.I would have thought there'd be lots of upgraders from 40-45cm and you may not have too much competition :)

trouble with the chinese kitchens are they look like chinese kitchens ,and some are good and some are crap which only shows itself further down the track, which, if you are selling doesn't seem to bother some people with no conscience ,but it does bother me ,
