Still have to commute to the train though. Kippa ring is nowhere near the lifestyle parts. Agree that this train will help growth even beyond this jump. Lots of people wouldn't even know there's a train out there now when they find out they might consider it as a destination to move to

Give it another 10 years mate....when the population hits over $3m...it will be a different story. People in Brissie will need to use public transport otherwise they will be stuck in gridlock.

what I'm saying is that they should have built the train to the centre of Red Cliffs I was surprised that they didn't

The advantage would be if it would bring people to Redcliffe even though it's not really so much of a swimming destination I think you'd get people going out there on the train for the day because it's still quite nice

When I wanted to wash out the mouths of anyone wishing for a flood:

The last thing Qld needs is another natural disaster. Our state governments have created enough disasters all by themselves.

It's not a bad spot for a day trip.
At least they doubled the bridge - but probably didn't future proof it for a train.

Why are the beaches around Redcliffe not much of a swimming destination? Is it too muddy or polluted?

Looking at Google Maps, the beaches look quite inviting and not muddy at all?

Not too polluted but wouldn't be as clean as further up the coast. Just a bit muddyish. I think people like golden sand. People kite surf or wade around with their dog but not many go for the full immersion.
No surf also puts people off.
Also has some irritating algae or weed or something a few people i know (one who resides there have told me about). I think that comes and goes though. Not sure what that is.
Depending on your budget i would look at Tamarama instead :)

Actually amendment to my earlier post: Straddie point lookout is the closest real Beach but need to jump on a ferry

Mud and silt from the Brisbane, Pine and Caboolture rivers.
Its definitely much nicer than the mud flats of Deception Bay but still not very inviting for swimming.
The eastern side of Bribie Island is where the decent beaches start in the north.

A bit of a weird place, but found the beaches weren't too bad over there.
    Felt a bit sharky though.

Tamarama NSW haha ok let me see... I might be able to raid my son's piggy bank for some extra funds but I think I might still be short a few hundred thousand for the deposit unfortunately.
