In 2015 his top 10 boom predictions were

    MILDURA
    CLYDE NORTH
    LABRADOR
    NOOSAVILLE
    SEAFORD
    HEWETT
    COMO
    BROOME

    In 2013 his top 10

I've always thought some of these people have too much to drink each year and start dart throwing on a map and voila!! Boom suburbs are born. Time to 'educate' the masses. Not to mention collect the report profits.

I have records of John Lindeman's predictions dating back to Feb 2012 (along with a number of other high profile industry experts). Lindeman's scorecard was last updated Nov 2016 and read as follows...

    • 13 different prediction reports
    • 69 markets picked in total
    • Prediction dates within 2012-02 to 2015-02
    • From 4.5 to 1.5 years growth results
    • Lindeman picks avg. p.a. growth rate 3.28%
    • 25% of these beat national avg. growth rate

Note that this analysis was not conducted on paid reports, but predictions made publicly by Lindeman in webinars, magazines, email newsletters, google results and contributions from other forum members such as Piston_Broke on 20th Jun, 2017 which were included in the above scorecard.

I would like to perform similar analysis on Residex prediction reports. I've asked Residex if I could buy historical reports, offering to pay full current market prices for out of date reports. But they refuse to sell them to me. If anyone has any of these, I'd be happy to share the analysis results if you could send me copies.

Its hit and miss. He has picked some winners and some losers.

At the end of the day I really have to wonder whether these reports are worth bothering with, what if you chose one of his losers... damn. For a little more effort you should be able to find some winners.

If you buy at the beginning of a rising market you will make money and you can pretty much throw a dart. Don't buy until it starts rising otherwise you are guessing and you could be wrong.

Read leads/tips on PC, and then follow it up with research
    Watch auction clearances
Read media reports on what is moving and then research (google is your friend)
Phone lots of re agents to find out what is selling/product
Keep an eye on volumes via re agent
How many days on the market
    Multiple offers?
How long has the market been moving
Count on booms lasting at least 2 years, did you get in on time.
Exit plan well that's up to the individual's strategy.

For me take the money and run and find another moving target

    MTR:)

I'm going to revive this thread!
How accurate have these reports been over the past few years?
