“No one is safe until everyone is safe”

Expect this to be the new global shaming mantra for vaccination propaganda in the coming few years.

Hard to trust a Government that in part is failing

Just look at the State Nursing homes Fiasco, its no wonder there is little trust.

 There is no exit plan?

Before anyone decides to shoot the messenger I am not against vaccinations, but I would like to know that I am not the guinea pig

I am also not convinced we will have a vaccination anytime soon

    not In most European countries

australia is the word largest nanny state , in comparsion to Europe the people are sheeple

look at the outward travel ban, that wouldn’t be accepted in Europe their would be riots on the street if they tried that level of nanny stateism

Unfair to offer that as a comparison as though Australian people are ignorant, they are two entirely different situations that need context.

    A. It remains possible to leave Australia for legitimate reasons therefore there isn't a blanket ban. In the midst of a pandemic that is causing long-term health impairment and death of citizens, is it really acceptable for people to leave for a 3-week holiday to Bali (as an example)?
    B. Australia has complete control of its borders that allows it to suppress/eliminate coronavirus. Australia has opted for a particular method that requires its borders closed.
    C. A. isn't really available to Europe because it is a huge land mass linked together and closing borders is politically unacceptable to the major EU leaders.
    D. Europe has a history of lockdown and suppression during the WW and the Cold War. It really isn't that long ago that Spain under Franco and Portugal under Salazar were living under a police and military dictatorship. There are many alive today who have painful memories of those times.

That view certainly fits your narrative - could conversely say that Australia is not as divided politically as a lot of other countries (we really do tend to stick to the 'sensible centre' more or less), and have a lot more trust for our government, and feel like it's our duty to work together. Or you could call that being 'sheeple'.

I know which one I'd prefer.

Every other report I have read today has redundancies as the main theme. It made sombre reading, there is next no good news to offset the bad.

Depends on where you want to look.

Unemployment rate is still high and it’s not great reading by any stretch, but using media grabs to generate clicks will only ever show bad news.

FYI - the unemployment rate increased despite the increase in jobs as the participation rate also increased.

For anyone who has lost their job and needs to reinvent themselves...... government has great incentive, education/course prices slashed

My daughter in Melb lost her job and fortunately now employed and is now also enrolled in a course on line which costs $10,000 She only paid $300
Course is Cyber security, complements her job, but also high demand?????
