    Are we talking about intellectual property infingement? I would b concerned if a PC thread is used to break laws

    My understanding is that there is no implied restriction on genuinely giving your only copy of some content to someone else.

    However, if they are being given a copy of that material (ie both parties now have access to the material) - then there may be copyright infringement. You cannot reproduce course notes without permission, but unless there has been an explicit licensing arrangement which prevents someone from passing on the only copy in whole, then I don't see a problem.

    So long as you legally own the original (not copy) course material there is nothing to stop you selling, lending, or giving it away.

    Unless you have signed some sort of exclusive use condition, which had to be disclosed to you before you purchased. Unusual as hard to enforce.

    The big no-no is to make a copy and dispose of that while keeping the original (or vice versa).
