Have listened to both episodes twice. Was fantastic and could listen again
Fantastic and so insightful. Jan seems so down to earth
Have not read their books but sounds like it is a must

Jan Somers was on Jane Slack-Smith's podcast recently too. I personally liked that one over this 2 episode series on the Property Couch. But still good regardless.

So 35 years later, not much has changed, apart from a multiple of 20.

Agree, I enjoyed that episode too.

Indeed I no longer listen to Property Couch, they had an episode last year comparing men to women. What were they possibly thinking?

I did try again recently but it just came across like a giant infomercial for their business. Ok, I am way off track now.

Back on track, Jan Somers is someone definitely worth listening.

Could you recommend a couple of other property and share podcasts?

Ultimately Jan's strategy is to :

    1. frugal!! tight ass living
    2. pump money into offsets
    3. buy as often as possible!
    4. they like to buy close to home (brissy) for DIY reno's.... i dont think that is a good strategy to save $50 changing washers yourself! but goes back to their frugalness. Plus your IP's may be in Xcity but what happens when you move to Ycity? they ain't fitting in your carry-on luggage!

Jan is on a different page to Ben and bryce with their flash spreadsheets and "strategies" and "end goals"... which everyone here also pushes. "JUST BUY" is Jans strategy, make it happen with your current situation, or wait till you can.

(I listen to podcasts via the podcast addict app and cant speed up the property couch for some reason, so have to listen to it at 1.0x rather than ~1.6x, so i did get a bit bored with it)

This is my strategy for now too. Plus build in the vacant back yard of the IP where your tenants are always complaining about the vacant back yard! :D

Def more of the Bryce and Ben philosophy and purchasing with excess cash flow and not a believer in servicing debt with debt when properties reach the point they are servicing themselves

As much respect That I have for Jan and what she has done, it isn't a strategy I use and embrace
