Anyone has a swim spa? Someone mentioned it to me today in case I can't afford a pool

I hate those stories. I watched my then-2-year-old almost hit by a bus doing 60+ km/h many years ago - flashbacks still give me nightmares).

My non-pool status is courtesy of living in a townhouse. We don't even have grass!

This is what I'm going to do.

My parents have a pool but it doesn't get much sun so they hardly use it anyway. And when I'm over there all I want to do is lounge in the pool. So I figure get a swim spa which is whatever temperature I want all year round, which is also perfect for lounging in. Of course you want it bigger than a normal spa because if you have friends over a normal sized spa is a bit too much like having a bath with your mates.

Pretty sure this pool wins the prize for the smallest of all...

    Only 4.5m long x 2.5m wide.
It's great for our 7yo daughter, but I've only been in it 3 times in 3 years since living here.
The pool has been out of action for a while and has been very cold in the past as it's well below natural ground level and doesn't get much sun light.
Solar heating and a automatic saltwater chlorinator / acid doser were recently installed, so the pool is good now.
Hope to use it more this summer.

Here's a bigger saltwater pool we have access to if we feel the need.

I'm considering it if I can actually have a proper swim. They only time I'd lounge in the pool is when it's very hot, which I assume doesn't happen that much in Melbourne. Considering to build 2 x 15m if it's in my budget, but really, @pinkboy 25m pool is much better for laps. I like the Olympic size 50m pool and willing to go if there's one nearby but I can't drive so....

Honestly you will struggle doing laps in a 15m pool. Even 20m pools suck for a competent swimmer. By the time you push off the wall and get into rhythm, you're again having to turn. Personally I find this even in my 25m when I do threshold stuff. Again, depends on what your overall needs and wants are for pool use....

I liked the jogging option in the promo filmclip - can stand there and watch the golf on tv, and suck on cans while exercising.:p

Exercise..... not the hard core military training, but enough to keep me fit and relief my shoulder pain.

I can't push off very far (luckily). The pool in my apartment is about 15m, so I just do tumble turn for as many as I can instead to make up for the length. Anything less than 10m is basically an oversized bath tub The 50m pool is the best but need to make do for now ;)

@dmb1978 Do you know if Fastlane work? Looking at it :p

EN710 from what I understand the concept/product is used in a lot of rehabilitation and athlete training. I have never tried one so can't comment personally. The fact they can be set up on any hard surface inside (concrete) and outside is enticing as you could take it with you or put it inside over winter i guess.
