Couple of trees are down near me, and my sister's neighbour had a big tree fall on their house.

Very, very strong. I suspect it'll be on they news. Apparently 60,000 homes lost electricity in the area. As I was driving home I was seeing power lines on fire.

Nah! The trees in the Eastern Suburbs fly first class.

I didn't realise that you'd taken roof off the back of the house.

No. I mean water for the farmers out in the sticks.

Plenty of water (and light) here in Sydney lol.

Going to be chaos out there this morning if you're trying to commute to work.

Lots of power outages still - some pretty serious infrastructure damage too it seems from what I've been reading, not just power lines down. Some areas might be without power for days.

    upload_2020-2-10_6-24-58.png

The Metro line is flooded so no service between Chatswood and Macquarie Park - suggestion is to change at Epping for T9 services to the city.

... even if you could get to Chatswood on the Metro - you'd have difficulty getting to the city - there's been a landslip here in Artarmon overnight affecting the train line.

There are limited services running - but it won't be enough to handle the normal morning commuter load - buses are being sourced apparently, but that is likely to take some time.

Sounds like a good day to work from home if you can (and have power!)

Just drove my wife to work - lots of trees down everywhere on the North Shore, including one on Hampden Rd in Artarmon closing it completely. Going to be chaos as morning commuter traffic and then school drop off traffic builds up - and that's the road the replacement buses will normally take too.

Hopefully the council can deal with it pretty quickly.

in the Brissie 11 floods our commercial area lost a major transformer.

We were running an Exchange server back then and UPS dried up in 90 minutes.

Thank heavens for the wee little 1000 w sine wave genie that would run for 8 hrs on 3 l of fuel. You dont know you need stuff till u need it.

We relied on it for nearly 4 days

Was just enough power there to run all our lappies too, and a couple of fans, but had to wear togs to work..........

Oddly enough our girl staffers didnt like to do same, so chose to send them home to work via VPN.

We had one client who have completely relocated their comms room and MSB to several floors up in the building. Basement got flooded last time around. One of those risks that aren't an issue until they are.

Maybe the flood levels should be on the S149 certificate so that planners know how many basement levels will be above the established flood levels.

@Simon Hampel yeah Artarmon station is causing a lot of delays on the network this morning due to landslip. Keep safe everyone. I still need to be at work.
