Well - hubby feels it in his toes and needed a day off work this week for gout ... claims it's impending rain anyhow but he might be right ... after thinking we might miss out, it's now solidly peltering down

We had another 23mms in the last 24 hours.

This takes our 2020 total up to 217mms, well over 8 inches on the old scale.

What a great start to the new year.

It looks like weather forecasters are about as accurate as property forecasters :D.

But who cares (about both).

We had another 2.5mm yesterday in Canberra, making 10mm for the month so far.

But some parts of Canberra had very big precipitation, literally - golfball sized hailstones. Some carparks had damage to every car in that carpark, many with front and rear windows destroyed.

The sir is the clearest I've seen in almost a month.

This is Canberra with the smoke two weeks ago, compared with yesterday.

    It is raining again.

... and it has all been good, gentle soaking rain.

This is great. So far, 129 mms (>5 ins) so far and more to come.

    For Brisbane:

    165mm in January
    188mm in February (so far)

Which is the most rain for the start of the year since 2015.

Up to 150mm forecast for Sydney today, up to 200mm tomorrow and another 150mm on Sunday and more following - that's up to 500mm in 3-4 days

Our average annual rainfall is only 1,200mm, and our average monthly rainfall for February is 117mm

Adelaide's annual average is only 540mm ... we're looking at getting as much rain as Adelaide gets in a year, in only 3-4 days.

Some places on the central and north coast are predicted to get up to 300mm tomorrow.

Lots of flooding predicted between Sydney and Port Stephens.

    So - how's Brisbane going? :D

We are not even 6 weeks into 2020 and we have already received 70% of last year’s total rainfall.

This is the best start to a year since I started recording our rainfall (when we moved into our newly-built PPOR).

On the same day over the last eight years, our YTD rainfall was:

    2013 - 263
    2014 - 125
    2015 - 254
    2016 - 71
    2017 - 156
    2018 - 46
    2019 - 100
    2020 - 430

There is so much bad news going around, I thought I would share some good news ;).
