Looking at Surry Hills, NSW. Prices look to be holding, keeping an eye out over next 6 months

I'm looking religiously at all of the sales results in Sydney, certainly not seeing any significant bargains finding their way through at the moment. Similarly not seeing things taking a step up - so think most of the media commentary about low sales results, no significant movement either way in prices being a pretty fair reflection.

I'm similarly doing the same in Melbourne and think the volume just seems much higher, and you're seeing some properties that do seem up to 10-15% cheaper than they were even 3-4 months ago (e.g. I was looking at results around Coburg / Pasco Vale / Essendon, Brunswick, Thornbury, Preston, Reservoir).

Could this be that start of the reverse ripple effect?

Those that are buying now in melb are likely in a great financial position. How an area holds up during this time may tell you alot about each suburb and their ability to attract finite capital and tenants.

If wfh really starts to takes hold then perhaps proximity to the cbd/train station may not be as strong a demand driver anymore and lifestyle, low density and schooling may override?

I’d expect bayside east of Brisbane to pick up due to working from home! We will see
