ARG hasn't yet fallen as hard as a couple of days ago or as far as the other grandfather LICs. Some are nearing the magical 4% Div yield that Nodrog speaks of

Faskination aboounds. Haven't watched nothing or see nothing (Sgt Shultz) as I've got other things on the go so I wasn't aware the conniptions and gymnastics games have recommenced. Not fussed enough to see what's what at the moment mainly because I did my small bit of buying the other day. I'll wait for the moment. The bloody thing will be there on Monday - not saying which Monday though.

Have you ever wondered where that $118B was in the first place? You buy retail, we buy wholesale. Maybe it's a good indication some fund managers aren't. One of the better things for private investors is we have time, well some do, and report to no one but ourselves.

From a personal perspective, I can only hope this is the beginning of a sustained bear market. In a perfect world I would get the next 3-5 years of investing funds at depressed prices with a 10-20 year time frame.

I invested some cash from my SMSF today.

CSL reported it half yearly results csl_HY18.PNG

    Full media release here

How often do you get a 23% payrise or rental increase?

I think it is one of the best ASX companies. A true champion race horse that has provided life changing returns. From $0.80 in 1994 to $142 in 2018 that is a compounded annual growth of 24%!!! (not including dividends)

That is one of the reasons I like DUI (Diversified United) LIC. It has about 15% international exposure and CSL as its top holding around 9%. I believe it's yield might not be the highest but it is well positioned to provide dividend growth compared to other LICs

Other reason I like it is it has had a progressive dividend history since 1993 along with it's big brother AUI (dividend history)

    Cheers,
    Oracle.
