I would have to double check but I am almost certain that the bricks are higher than the eaves. So the eaves could fill up with water but that water will not enter the roof cavity. I am sure I have cross sections on the working drawings showing this.

@turk is right. While water could potentially flow into the eaves cavity, there is a barrier preventing this water from flowing into the residence roof space. Here is the cross section:

The eaves are made from fibre cement, which isn't damaged if it gets wet. The only issue I have seen is that the fibre cement is nailed into wooden beams. If the eaves are constantly getting wet (which they shouldn't), the wood can swell and shrink and over time those nails can loosen off. It is a relatively simple fix but not too common.

I was looking for a similar detail. SD you note, the timber wall Bates may get wet and rot If frequent enough. If fixed to the external skin, the water should remain on the wet skin of brickwork however if the cavity is bridged you'll get a wet internal wall.

    Still a bad outcome
I have his on my house

Heavy storms rain backflooded into cavity. I didn't know what had happened until I looked behind the couch and noticed all the mold on the carpets and a wavy water line on the skirting (about 5cm high) extending for 4m.

The cavity must have filled up 5cm and somehow leaked onto the slab inside.

The cavity should not be bridged. That defeats the purpose of this type of construction.

Have you checked the weep holes are not blocked? I have seen weep holes blocked by garden beds, paving or concrete. If the weep holes are clear then the water should drain out and the cavity will dry.

Slack tradies not chaining or washing out cavities each day, mortar splashes left sitting on cavity ties, ties installed incorrectly etc all lead to this problem.

I have seen weep holes blocked by render. Renderers were suppose to clear after they finished but forgot.

As far as I know, it isn't expensive. The floortech floor is the same price as a solid concrete slab (pretty much) but has some advantages.

It was nearly dark so the kitchen picture didn't turn out too well but the kitchen is in and I love it. The granite cutters came out to measure up, so we should have granite soon. I'm excited!

It's a laxinex colour called Charcoal. It's a dark grey to be paired with a light grey granite benchtop and floor tiles that look like polished concrete.

Not sure. I got the bathroom and laundry as offcuts and didn't get a final price on engineered, mainly because they didn't have anything I liked.

Since then there are some new engineered stones that are lovely, like the ones @Westminster used for the one bedders in Highgate. I would definitely consider those for another project.

Looks good. I'm so glad your overheads go up to the ceiling - I abhor a gap between overheads and the ceiling :p

PS when taking photos through windows, place your phone on the glass and there should be no reflection then. Only works if that's the angle you want though

I like the light uppers too. It breaks up the darkness of the lower cabinets. The walls will be a colour almost the same as that.
