Hey guys, looking for some advice.

I was checking the entry to my roof cavity recently and noticed a piece of wood with black spots.

The spots are dry and it would not come off when I tried to rub it.

    Is this mould?

Is there anything I need to do regarding this?

    Thanks.

Try spraying it with Exit-Mould or bleach & water solution and see if it fades or comes off completely or stays the same. Then report back please....

I have a bottle of Concrobium Mould Cleaner which is chemical free I think. Will this do?

    Thanks.

Sure, it's just to see if the colour comes off or stays. If it stays I suspect it is paint. If it come off - I suspect it's mould (although dry now).

The colour hardly came off even when I scrubbed with a wire mesh.

So looks like it is paint as you said.

It is the stress grade marking on the pine, not mould.
