Is this an Insurance claim or not

    can I claim on insurance for a replacement of a rainwater tank and the pump. Tank is leaking and pump is not functioning.
    The PM sys I cannot.

    Probably not, it'd be maintenance work. Check your particular policy though.

    Some policies cover motor burnout.

    However, if the tank and motor are not ancient, then see if they are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

    Motor - possibly, if burnt out.

    If anything, they probably would only cover resulting damage from the leak, which it sounds like there is none. Get your policy out and have good read through. They're generally very detailed.

    I doubt it. We paid to have our water tank repaired recently, it was expensive but it did the trick. Usually water tanks can be repaired under warranty as many of them have warranties of ten years apparently. Unfortunately ours was older.

    Unless storm damage has caused the issue I doubt you will be covered
