I’m wondering if anyone knows of another Australian property forum or FB group that isn’t basically for property investors and brokers which I find this one to be.

    Thanks

Who would you like the forum to be ‘for’? Fhbs? The problem is that it would be the blind leading the blind up a garden path without a paddle.

No I’m not a first home buyer. I just find that this forum is heavily geared towards investors and mortgage brokers (many just trying to get business).

What's wrong with having a lot of investors on a property forum for investing?? Am I missing something?

I’ve tried checking out reddit but it seems like such a messy platform so I gave up.
    What actually is it?
Is it a forum? Is is as bad as whirlpool?

Ask a question over on whirlpool & you'll soon get your answer.

The problem with this particular forum is that it's often an echo chamber with the usual 50-70 posters regurgitating the same old stuff (nothing wrong with that if you want to play here). If you want more open discussion from different minded people then check Reddit. Here's a few local subs:
    r/fiaustralia
    r/AusProperty
    r/AusPropertyChat
    r/AusFinance
    r/AusLegal
    r/PropertyManagement

There's also lots of FIRE subs based on country and if it's lean fire or fat fire

Avoid faecbook, all those groups are run by spruikers looking for business, especially brokers

It takes a while to figure out who to ignore. Keep on going and you figure it out. Some operators I have a lot of respect for and others I give no attention.

    Apples for apples.

The fundamentals of wealth creation via real estate doesn't change. It is the same it always has been with minor variations.

New people always come to the forum so inevitably much gets repeated. But imo, the core knowledge does not change.

It's when people look for something 'new and sexy' ,they start to get into trouble.

There's a few of us rebels here that have no problem taking them up if they post BS.
But some do post some useful info.

A broker that has seen 100s or loans come and go can have some very usefuls info to share. And if you ask here they generally do.

I'm not exactly sure what you are after?

I have been planning to start another site along the lines of PropertyChat - but geared at owner occupiers rather than investors.

Is that the kind of thing you are looking for?
