I think the world has had enough of the US warmongering and is frankly worried

Pompeo crashes Brussels meeting of E.U. diplomats but changes few minds on Iran

"Secretary of State Mike Pompeo crashed a meeting of European foreign ministers in Brussels on Monday to push for a united transatlantic front against Tehran and its nuclear program. But he failed to bend attitudes among leaders who fear the United States and Iran are inching toward war."

Iraq and Syria were states with a much milder and much more accepting form of Sunni Islam than Saudi Arabia. This was viewed as a thread to Saudi ruling family. Their whole hold over the desert stands on Wahhabism, which amount other things legitimises their rule as leaders of the sect.

With their distraction Saudi pretty much completely destroyed the Hanafi moderate school that was in the area. Did anyone ever ask why ISIS and Al Qaeda never professed attacking Saudis?

Similarly, Iran is a threat to Saudi kings, it’s a completely different sect which is in direct opposition to Sunni Wahhabism ( a bit like Catholic and Protestant schools, only difference is on steroids).

Saudis want to keep their rule and only way they can do it is to ensure is that the school of thought that legitimised their rule is the most prevalent.

I recon the moderate Ahmadi school of Islam that is in Egypt is next on the block. Would be interesting to see if the “Brotherhood” that is professing violent takeover and installation of Wahhabism in Egypt suddenly gets unexplained funding.

And have to remember that a lot of the Kushner and Trump financial backing has come out of Saudi Arabia - once the US banks dumped them. So there very well may be some puppet strings at play

A very tangled web they weave

Makes sense. I think Fahrenheit 9/11 talked a lot how Bushes and generally the US elite are entangled with Saudi money.
