Is it a good deal to buy a land to build a house with an electric padmount substation on the rear end of the lot. It is fenced out on the side though as it is a corner lot. The lot is in good price as compared to the market price. What are the pros and cons? Plus what is the negative side of corner houses?

Depends. You want it to go up in value? Then no. You just want to live in it, and like Darryl Kerrigan you just don't care, then sure.

Actually check that, it's not an actual substation just one of those green boxes, like 2-3m long? Ones I've seen don't even make a noise. Might not be so bad. Depends on your area. If it's a cheaper area, and you can camoflage it with a tree, most people wouldn't care about it much.

If the site is in an industrial estate , commercial or retail centre, not a problem access to as much power as you'd ever need.
