No it is not a part of success. But having a large group of impressionable weak minded people to market to can be great for sales

Fear can be a fantastic motivator. Would I try a little bit harder if I believed that I'm going to spend all eternity in fire and brimstone if I didn't? Possibly.
A lot of American religion seems to imply that the richer you are, the closer to god you are (though Jesus preached the opposite a fair bit).

Do you have to be religious to be successful though? Absolutely not! Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Mark Zuckerberg are all atheists.

    I don't...complete atheist here.

There are loads and loads of examples all through history of people who are not religious who have been extremely successful, and vice versa.

Being connected to your own spirituality can improve your success. That's a self journey and not religious.

Being committed to a religion can improve success to a certain extend if you think about it. A person can transfer the discipline from one to the other. Being committed to a sport or martial art can also improve success in the same way.

I don't personally like religions but can see his point.,

Then improve your product and target strong minded people who actually want it and can benefit from it.

My point would be that certain Religions help people who have no routine or structure in their lives.
Some Religious routines require praying 5 times etc, it gives thise some routine to their life.

Ironically I was talking to my neighbours today who have just recently joined a Church group ( wont say which one but its big in the Hills area)

Talking to them, they were telling me that what draws them is the great motivating speeches they have their every Sunday and how to be successful in life.

They did ask me to come along with them, but i declined as im not interested , im interested in the motivational type speeches but not when they bring Religious figures into it .

I sleep and then wake up, then go back to sleep several hours later...there's a routine. :D

God may not be real, but why take the chance?

Based on probability assessment with our current knowledge of the world, an atheist have a 50/50 chance to go to hell or go nowhere, and a person who follows religion has a 25/25/50 chance to go heaven, go hell or go nowhere.

The odds are slightly better if you stick to a religion.

This makes no sense. For those of us who don't believe in God, there is no heaven or hell, you're simply put in the ground or cremated and that's it (or some believe in reincarnation).

I had a youngish mother die in the emergency department with her hysterical children watching on after she refused blood for what was an otherwise easily remediable situation. I cannot believe the unnecessary torture she put these kids through. I have many more stories too, but that was the most heart-wrenching.

We had a super difficult customer some time back, completely unreasonable about the most minor cosmetic defects on what would be considered a perishable coating on a functional item which would get scratched up after the first use.
She wanted every single part of a rack replaced which had a mark on it, from east coast to west coast. Threatened with ACCC, stating consumer rights, etc.
We googled her and found out she was a Jehovas witness, then discovered all these weird rules they live by.
She travelled half way around the world to get a bloodless operation done.
This would have to be the best example of non-obvious, (on first impression), insanity I've ever experienced before.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

    No. Just no.

PS. If god is real, then it is an a-r-s-e-h-o-l-e.
