Rather than staying a regional city, Ballarat is rapidly becoming a satellite of Melbourne. What are your thoughts on this? What are your thoughts about Ballarat's prospects?

From yesterday the train fare from Ballarat (etc) to Melbourne and back is capped at $9.20, the same as any Melbourne suburb. Must make Ballarat more desirable, but if it really drives demand places like Bacchus Marsh (already zone 1+2 fare) might be marginally less desirable since trains will be full before they get there.
    Fairer regional fares for Victoria
