I can't seem to find a straight answer. Obviously I can't rent rooms if I'm actually living there, and I can't rent rooms separately, but is it ok to rent the whole house?

If it's ok, am I allowed to advertise it as having a granny flat? Again I don't intend to rent the granny flat separately, just as an added bullet point.

    Wow! That's a bit harsh.

I think student accommodation is a bit different to Airbnb. And a friend professionally managed a big student accommodation complex with remarkably few problems, so generalisations don't always apply.

However, @jaybean, a phone call to the council will give you correct answers.
