This is why this year is exciting for me, as I will be starting my investment journey, I have no benchmark, if I make 1% it will be a killing to me ;)

1% is poo. You could put your money into a long term savings account and get 3.5%. Aim a little higher please. And low ball the crap out of everything that stacks up, till you buy at a great price.
    Best of luck.

I love your attitude and the fact your willing to give it a go and do the best you can, not just all talk and no skin in the game. Wish you all the best this year mate.

Yeah, it's probably relative to your experience, current income levels, net worth and amount of leverage you have.
    Everybody will be very different.
A killing for us would to increase net worth by something like 30%

1% will = 1/4 of my current annual salary :). 1% of something is much better than 100% of nothing :). As I am using this money as a deposit on mortgages the value of the 1% is higher, if I were to get 3.5% on just my available capital amount it would be a tiny bit more than 1 months salary for me.

Thanks mate, no doubt I will be keeping you guys updated with my progress :).

Best of luck mate, it's such an exciting time :).

I would kill if I could increase my net worth by 30% this year.

Don't call the cops - I was speaking figuratively.

I've been working on, and achieving 4% a month this past year. It's a small base, granted, but I plan to exceed this this year... I think that maps out to 66% annualised?

Or, I think 2016 would be a nice year to become a millionaire. If I can achieve 30% capital growth across my portfolio this year, then ill achieve it.

Edit: I'm operating under the assumption that if you like this post, then it's gonna happen. Woohoo.

I plan to at least double my net worth this year.. sounds impressive but its not really. With a bit of luck I'll triple it. Yay 2016

Just researched what a 'fiver' is. Slang for a British 10 pound note :D

oops lol I got it wrong

"What is a fiver in English slang?
A tenner is British slang for ten pound note. Fifteen pounds is three times a Lady (Lady Godiva) which is slang for fiver. A Fiver is five pounds, and Lady Godiva is the rhyme. A fiver is a colloquialism for a five pound note."
