I spend a lot of time flying and prefer to read instead of the inflight entertainment, I've read a few books to get me started. Can anyone suggest good books that helped them in the early days while building their IP portfolio?

    I'll also add a couple:

    Mindset:
    1. The Magic of Thinking Big – David Schwartz
    2. The Slight Edge - Jeff Olsen
    3. 7 habits of highly effective people – Stephen Covey
    4. Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki
    5. Think and Grow Rich – Napolean Hill

Technical aspects on real estate investing:
    6. 20 Must Ask Questions for Every Property Investor – Margaret Lomas
    7. From 0 to 130 properties in 3.5 years – Steve McKnight
    8. Michael Yardney’s Rules of Property – Michael Yardney
    9. 7 Steps to Accelerated Wealth – John Fitzgerald

    Happy reading!

    Cheers,
    David

Hi Synergy, can you explain why McKnigt's book won't apply any more? I haven't read it but looked up a quick summary.

Robert kyosaki stole all of Jim Rohn, Les Brown mindset material . His investment advice I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Hence why we should read the books that principles hold and do not hold at present There are lots of lessons to be learned from history, past strategies and even mistakes, IMHO!
I would just add that IP books are OK, but MINDSET books are great start too.
I think what separates those with larger portfolios is this main reason, they dream and think BIG, have a BIG enough WHY, hence will grow BIG!
Personally for me the changing moment was when I improved my mind, my attitude, my philosophy, my thinking, then one can become truly unstoppable and create the life or portfolio of investments one desires.

I always suggest a basic valuation text to get the nitty-gritty. I find most of the book store titles are at least a third fluff
