    Hi Guys

So I am new to this site and new to investing and hoping to get a bit of advice on investment property and building a house.

We are looking at building a house and then Renting that house out once it built. Later we will move into the house.

In terms of negative gearing are we able to negatively gear the loan cost for the building of the house. EG: if we have a 1MIL loan that will get 0 rent while being built and then rent for the rest of the year. What part of the loan can we put as negative geared?

Thanks for any information in advance.

    Regards
    Craig

But consider the CGT consequences of not living in the property as soon as complete.
