Interior design Melbourne

So I have a bedroom, that I want to turn into a little home office/study.

ATM, it's just that junk room that annoys me. The room is recently repainted and re carpeted, so they will stay. But can I get someone in, who will say, 'put this here, that there, buy this kinda desk, this art' etc.

Is this the role of a interior designer?

I couldn't design my way out of a paper bag.

How much and any recommendations for Melbourne?

P.s this is for a ppor, not a 6 week staging campaign to sell etc.

An interior designer can do this but you won't get any change from $1K for a short consultation.

Why don't you go to a homewares store like Pottery Barn or West Elm? They have designers that will come to your house for free to give you advice. Of course they will advise you to buy their products but that may work just fine for you

 

Scroll through Houzz to your hearts content. Find something you like and copy it. They often have tagged the objects for sale also. Easier if you limit it to australian options.

(Pottery Barn is pretty cool too)

 

Could I suggest,
write down the dimensions of the room, make a list of what kind of office you want, where is the door, window power points etc, set a budget$. Head into a posh homeware shop, they will design the rest for you?
I have done that!
