Well, today has been a terrible day :-(

Went to my reno this afternoon to open up for a plaster delivery, to discover the house had been broken into. Other than the rear door, no damage thank goodness.

They'd stolen loose copper fittings, tapware, sink, paint (one pail half used!), and hand tools I didn't consider worthwhile packing up. All up probably about $700 worth of gear gone, not worth claiming on insurance as the excess is $500.

What I'm most scared of though, is Comminsure have a $2,000 excess after the property has been vacant >60 days; which it will tick over this week.

Better options in the marketplace? What's everyone else doing for insurance whilst renovating?
