Insurance Recommendations

    As per title, looking for PCers recommendations/experiences with insurers for commercial properties.

    I have a shop plus residence in retail strip in Sydney looking for best options. Insurance type could be flexible.... Likely best to get insurance to cover loss of rent etc but do I need business interuption insurance or does the tenant generally have this themselves? Commercial insurance looks very expensive from what Ive seen so far so don't want to pay for insurance I don't need/want.

    The current shop is on a residential lease so payment of outgoings such as rates etc will be paid by landlord initially - shop was purchased with this in place so will see how it goes over the next 12 months... Ideally would be good to get on a commercial lease but will see how the repairs/expenses come in initially.

    The shop tenancy will obviously have its own insurance so just wondering what most do in this regard? Do you need full business insurance or just building and/or landlord?
